Integrative Pain Management
Integrative pain management is a new and highly effective approach to pain management. It de-emphasises the indiscriminate use of pain medication. It has emerged as a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to treating an individual, rather than merely eliminating the symptom. New research data indicates that a multi-disciplinary approach to chronic pain is the most effective, given its complexity and the multitude of contributory factors.
An integrative care program combines treatment strategies from different types of therapies, tailored to suit the individual’s condition, lifestyle and specific requirements. The core goals of integrative pain management are to manage pain, increase physical and mental function, and improve the quality of an individual’s life.

A multidisciplinary approach to pain management
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy relieves tightness, compression and pain in fascia including bone, muscle, ligament and nerve tissue. It works directly with the central nervous system and its pain pathways and signals. It is an established therapeutic intervention for various types of chronic pain including migraine, fibromyalgia, IBS, multiple sclerosis, trigeminal neuralgia, neuropathy and pain caused by sports injury, surgery, disease or trauma.
Structural Integration
Structural Integration assesses postural imbalances in the body and uses myofascial release techniques to alleviate chronic pain, improve range of motion, proprioception, postural awareness and general well-being. It's a great way to prevent injuries as it improves the range of movement in tissue and joints.
Pilates
Pilates is a series of exercises inspired by calisthenics, yoga and gymnastics. It teaches you how to use deep core muscles through controlled movement, in order to build a strong and healthy spine. It improves posture, flexibility, co-ordination, strength and body awareness.
